Karina Requejo formerly known as Karina Benitez, joined Cordero & Associates in May 2006. She handles complex employment and corporate-based immigration matters as well as appellate matters. She also oversees the firm’s family-based practice.
Mrs. Requejo has extensive experience in immigration law, having worked as a paralegal with a major multinational law firm for seven years and as a law clerk with Cordero & Associates while attending law school. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the St. Thomas University School of Law in 2008. While in law school, she was Notes and Comments Editor for the St. Thomas University Law Review. Mrs. Requejo was a two-year recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and was awarded the Best Student Award for Contracts II, Appellate Advocacy, and Agency & Partnerships. She also holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Psychology from Florida International University.
Mrs. Requejo is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Cuban American Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
