Erica Rodriguez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Italian Language magna cum laude from the University of Arizona. In 2011, Ms. Rodriguez earned a Juris Doctorate from Williamette University College of Law along with a Certificate in International and Comparative Law. While in law school, Ms. Rodriguez was an Executive Editor for the Willamette Law Review and an Associate Editor for the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution. She was awarded the Tax Executive Institute Award for achieving high paper in Federal Income Tax. For two years, Ms. Rodriguez participated in the International Human Rights Clinic, representing two Guantanamo Bay detainees in civil suits against the government.
Prior to relocating to Miami, Ms. Rodriguez practiced immigration law and criminal defense in New York City for several years. She is a licensed member of the New York State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Ms. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish and English, can communicate conversationally in Italian, and has a novice understanding of the Russian language.
