Raquel Linda Trujillo joined Cordero & Associates in March 2016. She handles removal/deportation defense and federal litigation matters, asylum cases, consular matters, appeals, and complex family immigration matters. She represents the firm’s clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review, Federal District Courts of Appeal, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, and other government agencies.
Ms. Trujillo earned her bachelor’s of science degree in Mass Communications and International Relations from Florida International University and earned her juris doctorate degree from Florida International University College of Law in 2010. Ms. Trujillo was a member and on the board of the Student Bar Association, International Law Student Association, Hispanic Law Student Association, and Cuban American Law Student Association during law school. Ms. Trujillo also participated as a student attorney in the Carlos A. Costa Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she represented detained clients in removal proceedings. Ms. Trujillo’s practice and professional experience is focused exclusively in immigration and nationality law.
Ms. Trujillo is a licensed member of the Florida Bar, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. In addition Ms. Trujillo is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is an active committee member in the organizations’ South Florida Chapter. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
